little update

April 30, 2010 § 2 Comments

Another blissful and successful thrifting trip earlier this week people. And so I’m sharing some of my treasured finds. One that is not in these pictures is our new coffee table. Its a vintage danish design, and just the kind I have been searching for for soooo long. Husband is fixing it up a bit and so its completely disassembled at this point. Its nice to have him back.

This weekend I will be working hard on all the measurements and picture editing of the little children’s clothing collection. Plan to have those up on etsy oh so so soon. Also, I hope to have a few home decor items and even a few things for him&her. We’ll see wont we…

I spray painted quite a lot of things over this week too so our place kind of has that paint smell right now. But I feeling quite accomplished and ready for the weekend!

I am anticipating a long week ladies and gentlemen. As the husband is away for work for a few days, and I am once again cooped up inside with the munchkins due to this bipolar weather.

Here is a muse that is inspiring this mouse to work while the cat’s away.

new fixation

I am currently really enjoying geometric shapes, tribal prints and color blocking (gasp)! I love how a few of these kind of pieces are accenting our vintage collection at home.

I would love to find a geometric covered bed duvet for my room, and then maybe I could come down a bit.

And how great is this?

Lisa Congdon is a mixed media artist and illustrator from San Francisco. I would love to visit one of her exhibitions, but unforch she isnt showing in SF anytime soon.

Yesterday we spend the day hanging with friends at fairytale town. Had a lovely time. These two are not a new fixation, but here are my little monsters busy at play.

I’ve never been there and I totally thought it was something completely different. I was pleasantly surprised and totally recommend it for those of you with kids!

whats in your bag?

haha. No sorry guys, this is not one of those posts about me putting cute things in my purse and then taking pictures of them. The sun peeked out and I got so antsy to leave the house, so I hit up some thrift stores a few days back.

Its pretty darn rare that I get to go and spend some extensive time browsing, because the short people I usually have accompanying me just dont get the point of that. But I made the mistake of going too late and scrambling around just before closing time. Nevertheless, I managed to snatch up some goodies:

Along with some stuff for the house. Anyway. I haven’t gone thrifting in awhile, and it was just so good to come across so many lovely things (for dirt cheap!).

I wonder if my husband will let me do something like this,
on ‘my’ side of the room of course.

I am especially loving the picture collage. Note to self.

oh wells. I guess it won’t be any kind of bird tattoo on the wrist for sure.
Actually I am very much on the fence about the whole tattoo thing. I am probably too chicken to ever get one.

This week just flew by, with little to show for it. Sorry week.

Here are a few more inspiring images from the same place.

thinking fall already?

So. I have to confess, I go check out crewcuts at jcrew for outfit inspirations for the girls pretty regularly. I love the way they piece things together, but its been a while since I’ve seen anything this lust worthy in their woman’s line.

Here is a little sneak peak of their fall collection released a few weeks ago. Dang. I want it all.

Coupla things:

Made a little getaway to Berkeley over the weekend. Picked up a few little things for projects from stores that are only found there, and (of course) got inspired to add a few more projects to the list. I absolutely cant resist anthropology. Although the clothes isn’t totally my thing, they do manage to pull off ah-mazing displays. They should put a book together. Seriously.

Picked up some cardigans for muh girls. I melt at the kids stuff AA has. Dude, how cute are these leggings?

Regret not grabbing those…

I feel like we brought the bay weather back with us, its been raining and super cold. So we are building forts and the place smells like a coffee shop, keeping cozy inside.

I’m heading over a few tabs to order my curtains and rug right now! I love love love getting things in the mail.

It would be nice to receive these little treasures as well:

I know, I know. I already have a pair of vintage saddle shoes. But these are oh so much cuter. They are a lot more feminine so I could wear them with a dress. Please?
